The thirtieth Math Webinar in English took place on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 from 5 pm until 6 pm with Amy Ackerberg-Hastings and Daniel E. Otero, co-editor and editor-elect, respectively, of the journal Convergence of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), as our invited speakers. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
In this thirtieth Math Webinar in English, Amy Ackerberg-Hastings and Daniel E. Otero presented on “A Tour of MAA Convergence”. The speakers explained how we can use history to enhance mathematics teaching and described the resources that are available in the journal Convergence that can be accessed for free in the link https://bit.ly/MAAConvergence. Some examples of the resources that are available are the sections of “On this day”, “Quotations”, “Math Treasures”, “Portrait Gallery” and “Translations of Original Sources”. This virtual event was co-organized by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA).
