The fourteenth Math Webinar in English took place on Wednesday, April 13th, 2022 from 5 pm until 6:30 pm with the mathemagician Arthur Benjamin, Smallwood Family Professor of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College, as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
In this fourteenth Math Webinar in English, Dr. Arthur Benjamin, who is also a professional magician, presented on “Mathemagics!” The speaker demonstrated how to mentally square numbers of several digits faster than a calculator, compute the day of the week of any date in history and perform other amazing feats of mind. Dr. Arthur Benjamin also explained the math concepts behind his mathemagical show. This virtual event was co-organized by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA).
