The Celebration of Mind: Women in Magic And Why You’ve Never Heard of Them took place on Wednesday, June 24th, 2026 from 5 pm until 6 pm. Professional mind-reader and magician Kayla Drescher was our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
In this virtual event, Kayla Drescher highlighted that only from 7 to 10% of magicians are women and emphasized the contributions that women have made in the history of magic. The speaker drew attention to the magicians Ionia, Adelaide Hermann, Gerrie Larsen, Ellen Armstrong, Gloria Dea, Juliana Chen, among others. Kayla Drescher also mentioned how the industry of magic is changing to become more inclusive and diverse and recommended The Magic Institute, located in the Cosmic Underground Theater in Chicago. This virtual event was co-organized by the Gathering 4 Gardner Foundation (G4G).
