The Webinar on Science in The Big Bang Theory took place on Thursday, February 10th, 2022 from 4 pm until 5 pm, with the science communicator Claudio Sanchez from Argentina as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
The invited speaker started the virtual event by presenting the main characters of this popular TV show. Claudio Sanchez then shared several examples in which science appears in The Big Bang Theory, such as the experiments of the double slit, of the elephant toothpaste, of the non-Newtonian fluids, of the helium balloon, of the sulfur hexafluoride balloon, of the egg in the bottle and of the potato battery. The speaker also explained the difference between the Julian and Gregorian calendars and highlighted Isaac Newton, Richard Feynman and Stephen Hawking.
