The Webinar on Games of Hippos, Flamingos and Octopuses took place on Wednesday, June 12th, 2024 from 5 pm until 6 pm, with Adrian Gonzalez Casanova, Professor of Mathematics at the Autonomous National University of Mexico (UNAM) and the University of California, Berkeley, as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
The invited speaker shared the Elephant Game, the Flamingo and Hippo Game (also known as Submarine) and the Shannon Game, which involves octopuses that want to hold hands. Adrian Gonzalez Casanova explained the winning strategies of these games and mentioned that his presentation is based on the book “Game Theory, Alive!” This virtual event was co-organized with the Mexican Mathematical Society (SMM).
