The Webinar on Mathematical Creativity took place on Thursday, June 6th, 2024 from 5 pm until 6 pm, with Nicolas Libedinsky, Professor of Mathematics at the University of Chile, as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
The invited speaker described several entertaining mathematical exercises that help us enter a creative state, for example: how are they alike and reinterpret stories. Nicolas Libedinsky emphasized that the power of humor is like fuel for creativity and recommended placing objects that remind us to be creative. The speaker also mentioned that in order to be creative, he suggests having a beginner attitude, believing that our ideas are brilliant, trusting our own intuition, and training in improvisation.
