The Webinar on Why Communicate Science? took place on Thursday, October 10th, 2024 from 5 pm until 6 pm, with Nelida Pohl, Director of Communications at the Ecology and Biodiversity Institute of Chile, as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
The invited speaker explained why science communication is important and why involving science researchers in it is necessary. Nelida Pohl mentioned that before communicating science, we have to reflect on why we are doing it and which communities are we trying to serve. The speaker also shared several examples of effective, responsible and sensible communication and described the basic principles of communicating with diverse audiences in a variety of formats.
