The Webinar on Math and Architecture took place on Thursday, June 16th, 2022 from 4 pm until 5 pm with Antonio Di Teodoro, President of the Ecuadorian Society of Mathematics (SEdeM), as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
The invited speaker presented examples of the evolution of architecture throughout history highlighting the renaissance, the gothic and the modern. Antonio Di Teodoro mentioned the architects Gaudi and Zaha Hadid, and the mathematicians Lobachevski and Bolyai. The speaker also described several structures based on a catenary and double curvature. This virtual event was co-organized with the Ecuadorian Society of Mathematics (SEdeM).
