The Webinar on How Can We Construct a Sierpinski Fractal with Paper? took place on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022 from 5 pm until 6 pm, with Jose Luis Muñoz, President of the “Emma Castelnuovo” Society of Math Professors from Madrid, as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
This virtual event was free and open to the general public. The invited speaker explained how to create a fractal book with several printer paper sheets, a ruler, scissors and glue. Jose Luis Muñoz shared that a fractal is a geometric object whose basic structure is repeated at different scales. The speaker described step by step how to construct the first three iterations of the Sierpinski fractal, a well-known fractal formed from a triangle. Jose Luis Muñoz also recommended to use heavy paper for better results.
