The Webinar on Mathematics that Excite took place on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021 from 12 pm until 1 pm, with Sergio Belmonte, Vicepresident of the Museum of Mathematics of Cataluña (MMACA), as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
The invited speaker presented how basic mathematical concepts produce positive emotions through a personal story on the Golbach Conjecture, a surprise referring to pi, various examples of beauty related to phi, and two puzzles with paper balls. Sergio Belmonte also invited the participants to visit the website https://mypiday.com where you can find your birthdate among the digits of pi. This virtual event was co-organized with the Museum of Mathematics of Cataluña (MMACA).
