Abstract: Join professional mind-reader and magician Kayla Drescher who will take us on an examination of magic, historical and present day, to understand why only 7% of magicians are women. Are women just not interested in magic? Or have there always been women in magic but we’ve just never heard of them? Through her podcast “Shezam”, Kayla Drescher has studied the magic community in order to answer these questions and, hopefully, make the magic industry a more inclusive place for all. Kayla Drescher, from Chicago, has performed all over the world and on TV shows like “Penn & Teller’s Fool Us” and NBC’s “Today Show”.
