The Webinar on Probabilistic Abacus took place on Saturday, November 25th, 2023 from 10 am until 11 am, with Luis Lopez Garcia, Professor of Mathematics at the Math Talent Stimulus Project (ESTALMAT) of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences of Spain in Canarias, as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
The invited speaker explained the Laplace rule of how to calculate the probability of an event through an activity that involves two dice. Luis Lopez Garcia then described what the probabilistic abacus is and presented several interactive examples that use boards and tokens.
