The Webinar on Combinatorics in Colored Necklaces took place on Saturday, October 7th, 2023 from 2 pm until 3 pm, with Maria Laguna, early childhood educator and math teacher from Mexico, as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
The invited speaker presented various challenges related to colored necklaces that can be used with little kids from preschool, including finding the number of possible combinations of designs. Maria Laguna then challenged the participants to figure out the combination that she had selected, allowing them to only ask questions whose answers are yes or no. The speaker also showed a variant of the game in which the allowed questions had to use the words up or down.
