The Webinar on Learn about the Game of Go took place on Thursday, March 10th, 2022 from 4 pm until 5:30 pm, with Edgar Escobar, President of the Panamanian Go Association, as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
The speaker told us the history of the game of Go, which is a game of strategy for two people that originated in China more than 4,000 years ago. Edgar Escobar explained the rules of the game, which consists of placing, in turns, white and black stones on the intersections of the board. The speaker mentioned that every player is assigned a color before starting and once a stone is placed, it cannot be moved. Edgar Escobar also described how a stone or a group of stones can be captured and how the game is won. This virtual event was co-organized with the Panamanian Go Association.
