FUNDAPROMAT Math Outreach Session

On Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 we organized a Math Outreach Session at the Joint Mathematics Meetings (JMM), largest annual math conference that unites thousands of mathematicians from the international community. In this session, Cindy Lawrence, Executive Director of the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) in New York, Lauren Siegel, Founder of the MathHappens Foundation, Daniel Kline, Executive Director of the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival (JRMF), Amanda Serenevy, Founder of the Riverbend Math Community Center, and Jennifer Quinn, Executive Director of the Seattle Universal Math Museum (SUMM), participated as our invited speakers, who illustrated the importance of doing math outreach and shared their experiences organizing this type of activities. This session was moderated by Jeanette Shakalli, Executive Director of FUNDAPROMAT, was co-organized by Michael Dorff, Head of the Department of Mathematics at Brigham Young University, and took place in Room 201 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in the United States.
