The Webinar on Games, Strategies and Math took place on Thursday, October 9th, 2025 from 5 pm until 6 pm, with Yolanda Segarra Wecker, member of the Museum of Mathematics of Cataluña (MMACA) in Spain, as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
The speaker started the virtual event by explaining what games and mathematics have in common and how games contribute to the learning of this science. Yolanda Segarra Wecker then described the Game of Fifteen, the Tower of Hanoi and the Game of NIM. The speaker also analyzed the winning strategy of each of these games and generalized the results. This virtual event was co-organized by the Museum of Mathematics of Cataluña (MMACA) in Spain.
