The Math Webinar in English #53 took place on Wednesday, November 12th, 2025 from 5 pm until 6 pm with Taylor Yeracaris, Education Leader of The Global Math Circle, as our invited speaker. This virtual event was free and open to the general public.
In this Math Webinar in English, Taylor Yeracaris presented on “A True Experience of Doing Math: The Spirit of Math Circles”. The speaker explained that The Global Math Circle was founded by Bob and Ellen Kaplan in order to provide a different way to learn mathematics, focused on exploration and discovery. Taylor Yeracaris described an example of a math circle, which consists of 10 one-hour sessions, with small-group discussions (5 to 7 kids). The speaker emphasized that the goals of a math circle are explore and create challenging mathematics, learn to work with others, enjoy math and develop critical thinking. This virtual event was co-organized by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) and The Global Math Circle. This was the last Math Webinar in English of 2025.
